ABOUT CSDC

Technology Has Changed. Our Purpose Hasn't.

Communications Systems Design & Consulting, Inc. (CSDC) is a Baltimore-based technology and low-voltage engineering company with roots reaching back more than four decades.

From early computer information systems and networking to today's integrated communications, security, and IP infrastructure, CSDC has evolved alongside the technology our clients depend on.

What has remained constant is our approach: understand the environment, engineer the right solution, and stand behind the systems we deliver.

WHERE IT STARTED

From Computers to Connected Systems

The CSDC story began long before the company carried its current name. In 1980, Troy Stokes Sr. began his technology career at Xerox and founded Computer Information Systems (CIS), working with the computer and information technologies reshaping business then.

By 1985, that foundation had expanded into Global Information Services (GIS), bringing wireless communications, security, CCTV, and access control into the growing technology portfolio.

What began with computers evolved into something much larger—the integration of the systems organizations rely on to communicate, connect, operate, and remain secure.

THE CSDC ERA

Building on Decades of Experience

In 2002, Communications Systems Design & Consulting, Inc. (CSDC) was established to bring decades of experience in computing, communications, networking, and security under one organization.

Rather than operating as separate technologies, CSDC approached these systems as parts of a connected infrastructure—designed, installed, integrated, and supported together.

That philosophy continues to guide CSDC today.

HOW WE WORK

Experience Before Equipment

CSDC does not begin with a product or manufacturer. We begin by understanding the environment, the challenge, and what the organization needs the technology to accomplish.

Our experience across communications, networking, security, and infrastructure allows us to look beyond individual devices and consider how the entire environment should operate.

A PARTNERSHIP BUILT OVER DECADES

Serving Education Since 1989

In 1989, a relationship with Baltimore City Public Schools began that would grow and evolve alongside the technology itself.

What started with communications and early technology systems expanded into security and surveillance. By the mid-1990s, our work included designing and installing remote video-surveillance systems for Baltimore City schools—technology that was well ahead of its time.

Over the decades, that relationship continued through changing generations of technology, eventually encompassing networking, communications, security, infrastructure, and connected IP systems.

The technology changed. The relationship endured.

BUILT FOR TODAY. READY FOR WHAT'S NEXT.

Experience That Continues to Evolve

CSDC's history provides the foundation, but our focus remains on what comes next. Today's technology environments demand systems that are secure, connected, scalable, and easier to manage.

We continue to evolve with those demands—combining decades of practical experience with modern IP-based networking, communications, security, access control, surveillance, and integrated building technologies.

Our experience tells us where technology has been.
Our job is to engineer where it goes next.

LEADERSHIP & EXPERIENCE

Built on Hands-On Experience

CSDC's approach reflects more than four decades of hands-on experience led by founder Troy Stokes Sr.—from the early days of computer information systems through the evolution of communications, security, networking, and today's integrated technology environments.

That experience continues to shape how CSDC approaches every project: understanding the client's environment, engineering practical solutions, and building systems designed to last.
